Do You Recall What You Have?

Do You Recall What You Have? 2

I began a new practice recently.

I schedule a collection of tweets based on old blog posts and guest posts I published. I have published 1000s of blog posts and guest posts. I have quite a few pieces of content in my blogging arsenal. Why not use what I have? Why not promote the 1000s of posts on Twitter to better reach my audience, to help folks and to increase my profits? Blogging gets easier if you make uncomfortable, freeing decisions. Promoting a good 10-20 old posts and guest posts daily eats up a small portion of my time and energy but moves back my guest posting and blogging campaigns a tiny bit. I work a little bit more. So what? Helping people with what I already have increases my success from a more passive perspective.

I am all for abundance. I enjoy creating new content daily. But taking stock of old content by giving posts a promotional nudge makes blogging easier for me and makes it easier for you to gain access to my help. We both win because I recall what I have. Even better? I do not feel pressure to create and promote new content because circulating old content I already published frees me from needing to publish more content. I simply create new content from a more relaxed, chill energy, because I have ample content circulating around, from the prior 6 years.

How are you doing in this department? Do you recall what you have? Or do you write off what you have? Be transparent. Be straight with yourself. As a rule, humans feel as if humans have not enough. Adopting this scarcity mindset means forgetting what you have. Forgetting what you have means you do not appreciate what you have, and make what you have, work for you. I do not suggest spending 15 hours daily tweeting your 1000 blog posts and guest posts already published. But at least spend a few moments daily sharing old blog posts and guest posts to Twitter and Facebook. Allow what you have to work for you. Be generous with past creations. Leverage your blogging campaign through the simple concept of allowing old blog posts and old guest posts to drive more traffic and profits to your blog.

I scan my oldest posts daily, remove dead links, update and share on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Pinterest. I just did this for my online branding eBook post. Why in the heck not? Why would I not do this? Every little nudge counts. Imagine if I drive 5 people to this blog post with a tiny promotional nudge. Imagine if I drive 5 people to 20 old posts I promote today. At the end of the day, 100 plus people visited Blogging From Paradise. At the end of the month, 3000 people visited Blogging From Paradise. At the end of the year, 36,000 people visited Blogging From Paradise using this incredibly easy to execute, simple method of making what I already have work for me.

At the end of 10 years, 360,000 people visited Blogging From Paradise. Well North of a quarter of a million people visit my old blog posts simply because I promote 20 old posts daily on Twitter.

But that’s not all. Imagine all of the traffic I drive by creating NEW content, in addition to promoting old content. Over a decade, millions upon millions of people will visit my blog, based on these conservative numbers. What happens when my old posts generate 10-20 visits and my new posts generate 100 to 1000 visits. Yikes. I really step it up.

BUT I have not even included my old and new guest posts yet.

Do you see why generously creating new content and mindfully promoting old content, noting and using what you already have, can create significant blogging traffic and profits over the short term and long term?
